Our People

Stuart Brainerd, President:   Stuart founded Synapse Networks in 1995 after more than a dozen years of experience working in product marketing and product management for  telecom equipment manufactures including Harris Corp, Ericsson, Altcatel and Nortel.  He brings a broad experience in telecom, data networking, security, Virtual Private Networking, and Window and Linux infrastructure support.  He has a Bachelors degree from Stanford in economics.


Kristine Marciniak, Vice President: Kristine joined Synapse in 2005 after formalizing her 10+ years experience with a Masters of Computer Science from the University of Chicago. Kristine is involved with most aspects of the company, specializing in the following areas:
-Certified Juniper network engineer, JNCIA-SSL, JNCIA-FWV (firewall/VPN), JNCIA-IDP
-Microsoft technologies including: Windows Server 2000-2008, XP Pro, Vista, SharePoint Server
-Blackberry Server
-Pre-sales engineer for product lineups from Aerohive, Fortinet and Mimosa Systems

Kristine's basic work philosophy emphasizes not only delivering quality work but also reinforcing the idea of making sure the customer is at ease with the technology they use everyday, driving their own success.


Matthew Jung, Systems Engineer:
Matt joined Synapse in 2008.  He holds a Bachelor in Technical Management from DeVry University Chicago and has a background in computer programming, networking and system administration, as well as sales and business.  Matt has experience with the following technologies, amongst others:
 
- Certified Juniper network engineer, JNCIA-EX (Enhanced Switching)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Pre-sales engineer for Juniper products
- Server administration under Windows Server 2003 and 2008
- Desktop support under Windows 2000, XP and Vista
- VMWare and Microsoft virtualization platforms
- Network security and management

Matt is enthusiastic about helping others and enjoys creative problem solving.  He strives to ensure 100% quality in his work and follow best practices in the implementation of client's infrastructure and systems.  His background in diverse computer and business related disciplines allows him to see the 'big picture' and bring true value to the clients of Synapse Networks.
